The Racal Instruments™ 1260-112 is a high-density, double-pole, double-throw (DPDT), switch for the Adapt-a-Switch® platform. It quickly and easily plugs into the front of an Adapt-a-Switch Carrier, 1260-100. Please refer to the 1260-100 datasheet for Adapt-a-Switch platform features and specifications.

This DPDT switch plug-in was designed to switch high-speed differential signals. Its architecture is ideal for switching bi-directional buses and for configuring flexible, interchangeable solutions to varying test requirements.

The 1260-112 provides 20 DPDT relays. Relays can be actuated individually or in groups using the “Include” feature. This feature permits multi-line buses such as RS-232 to be routed with a single command. This simplifies use of the switching system, reducing overall test development time and cost.

An Option 01T is required to communicate with Adapt-a-Switch plug-ins, and provides message-based operation for ease of use and register-based operation for maximum speed. The Option 01T mounts on the leftmost Adapt-a-Switch carrier or 1260 series module and does not consume any VXI or plug-in slots. The Option 01T provides a single point of software control for the switching system with advanced features such as include, exclude, scan, relay monitoring, user defined path names, and reset states. The Adapt-a-Switch line includes VXIplug&play support of Win95/NT frameworks including drivers for LabWindows/CVI and LabView.
